"Allen Edmonds is well on the way to becoming a global brand. We’ve had significant sales in Europe for a generation, and our recent agreement with a
Chinese partner to open Allen Edmonds stores in China – bringing our “Made in USA” products there in a reversal of decades-long trends – has the potential
to double our sales and our international awareness over the next several years." -- Paul D. Grangaard

"One of the things I like best about my job is reading letters from people I call “Allen Edmonds Men” – stand up guys who
invariably take their multiple roles in life very seriously, and themselves less so. They always have interesting, often
entertaining and even inspirational tales to tell about an experience with their Allen Edmonds shoes. We’re honored to be
associated with these men." -- Paul D. Grangaard, President & CEO.

Allen Edmonds to sell shoes in China
Allen Edmonds Shoe Corp. is expanding its market into China, the manufacturer announced December, 2011. The Port Washington company announced a licensing
agreement with Shanghai-based Talent Creations to sell Allen Edmonds-brand business and casual shoes in China, Hong Kong and Macau. The first retail store
will open in Shanghai in the second quarter of 2012, according to a news release.
The company has no intention of setting up manufacturing in China and prides itself on its “made in the USA” label, Grangaard said. About 95 percent of
Allen Edmonds’ products are made in Port Washington, Wisconsin.
Allen Edmonds Shoe Recrafting
Take a inside look at the Allen Edmonds Recrafting process.
We begin by replacing soles, heels, welting, cork footbeds and laces. Next, we completely refinish the uppers,
hand-polishing the leather to a vibrant glow. Finally, we add aromatic cedar shoe trees and place shoes in protective shoe
bags. The results are nothing short of remarkable.

"Not only the wealth, but the independence and security of a country, appear
to be materially connected with the prosperity of manufacturers. Every nation ... ought to endeavor to possess within
itself all the essentials of a national supply. They comprise the means of subsistence, habitation, clothing and
defense ... The expediency of encouraging manufactures in the United States, which was not long since deemed very
questionable, appears at this time to be pretty generally admitted."
