Ken's Foods
... proudly an American Made Hero Company!
Marlborough, Massachusetts
It all started back in 1941, when Ken and Florence Hanna decided to open Ken's Steak House in Framingham, Massachusetts
that soon became famous for serving great tasting salads. According to Ken, "It got to the point where our salads were probably more
popular than our steaks ... and pretty soon people were asking why I didn't put the salad
dressing in a bottle and sell it."
Friends of Ken named Frank and Louise Crowley did exactly that and started the Ken's Foods business in their kitchen in
1958 based on the house dressing served in Ken's restaurant. It is still a family owned and operated business but
Ken's Foods has since grown far beyond that original Italian dressing specialty.
Today, between the Retail Grocery Products and Food Service divisions, Ken's Foods produces and packages over 400 varieties
of dressings and sauces. Ken's is the number three manufacturer of salad dressings in the United
States behind Kraft Foods and Wish-Bone. Besides its headquarters in Marlborough, the company employs over 600
USA citizens in manufacturing facilities located in Marlborough, Massachusetts, McDonough, Georgia and Las Vegas, Nevada.
For fulfilling their American dream by building a large & successful business through old fashion hard work and for
continuing to manufacture and provide jobs right here in America, Ken and Florence Hanna, Frank and Louise Crowley,
the current
owners, managers and all employees of Ken's Foods are hereby recognized and applauded as

"Not only the wealth, but the independence and security of a country, appear
to be materially connected with the prosperity of manufacturers. Every nation ... ought to endeavor to possess within
itself all the essentials of a national supply. They comprise the means of subsistence, habitation, clothing and
defense ... The expediency of encouraging manufactures in the United States, which was not long since deemed very
questionable, appears at this time to be pretty generally admitted."

Patriotism, Jobs Primary Motivations for 'Buying American'
PRINCETON, NJ -- Forty-five percent of Americans say they recently made a special effort to buy products made in the United States. When asked why,
these shoppers mainly cited patriotic or altruistic goals related to the national economy, including creating and keeping jobs in the U.S., rather than
product-specific considerations such as quality, safety, or cost.
