Commissioner Patrick A. Mulloy was appointed to the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission on December 12,
2007 by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. Commissioner Mulloy previously served as a member from April 2001 to
December 31, 2006.
The U.S.- China Economic and Security Review Commission is a small, fast-paced, nonpartisan, legislative branch Commission
responsible for monitoring, investigating and submitting an annual report to the Congress on the national security
implications of the bilateral trade and economic relationship between the United States and the People's Republic of China.
The Commission conducts its work and studies in the following areas: China's military buildup, proliferation practices,
regional economic and security impacts, U.S.- China bilateral programs, economic transfers, energy, U.S. capital markets,
WTO compliance, and the implication of restrictions on speech and access to information in China.

PRINCETON, NJ -- Forty-five percent of Americans say they recently made a special effort to buy products made in the United States. When asked why, these shoppers mainly cited patriotic or altruistic goals related to the national economy, including creating and keeping jobs in the U.S., rather than product-specific considerations such as quality, safety, or cost.
