![]() ![]() ![]() Okabashi Brands ... a great American Made Heroes Company. Buford, Georgia
Today 98% of shoes Americans wear are made abroad. Not okabashi! They are very proud to say that all of their shoes are
American Made. Okabashi employs over 250 full time Americans in its Buford, GA manufacturing plant, providing jobs and
financial growth to the local economy
Okabashi is a family owned business that has focused on designing and manufacturing extremely comfortable shoes for more
than 25 years. Since 1984, They set themselves apart from the other major footwear manufacturers by producing a shoe that
is much more than a shoe. Besides being made in the USA, Okabashi shoes are 100% recyclable, designed with superior foot
support and a massaging insole, anti-microbial, dishwasher safe, and backed by a 2-year guarantee which proves they believe
in their product and stand behind it 100%.
Yes, they know they can do it in China as many competitors have, and maybe do it cheaper. Founder Bahman M. Irvani
modestly says "But that is not in the DNA of our company and that is not our expertise."
Mr. Irvani's family did not plan to be such an exception as becoming a domestic USA shoe manufacturer. They were happy making shoes
in Iran. They started Okabashi in Buford only after fleeing the 1979 Iranian revolution, leaving behind all the elements of
a successful shoe-making operation.

Patriotism, Jobs Primary Motivations for 'Buying American'
PRINCETON, NJ -- Forty-five percent of Americans say they recently made a special effort to buy products made in the United States. When asked why, these shoppers mainly cited patriotic or altruistic goals related to the national economy, including creating and keeping jobs in the U.S., rather than product-specific considerations such as quality, safety, or cost.
