Diane Sawyer ...
selected as an American Made Hero!
- ABC Evening News Anchor.
We applaud Ms. Sawyer's decision to promote and not ridicule the need for more
Americans to purchase more domestically
manufactured product and we welcome her as a new member of
AmericanMadeHeroes.com.
ABC World News and Diane Sawyer are launching a series to discuss America's trade and manufacturing issues, titled
“Made in America.”
We applaud Ms. Sawyer for educating her fellow Americans to the dangers of America losing its' manufacturing future.
The premise of the series will be to answer the following questions, according to the show's website: 'Is buying
American-made more expensive? What staples are no longer manufactured in the U.S. at all? And what difference would it
make if everyone promised to buy more American-made products?' As part of this launch, the network unveiled its “Made in
America Challenge,” looking for essays, photos and videos detailing American products individuals have bought, and how they
have adapted their lifestyle to buy more American goods.

Alexander Hamilton |
"Not only the wealth, but the independence and security of a country, appear
to be materially connected with the prosperity of manufacturers. Every nation ... ought to endeavor to possess within
itself all the essentials of a national supply. They comprise the means of subsistence, habitation, clothing and
defense ... The expediency of encouraging manufactures in the United States, which was not long since deemed very
questionable, appears at this time to be pretty generally admitted."
