United Streetcar’s mission is to provide modern, efficient, safe and reliable American-manufactured streetcars and to be a pioneering force in increasing urban transit options throughout the United States. United Streetcar, a subsidiary of Oregon Iron Works, Inc., was formed in 2005. United Streetcar manufactured the first Buy-America compliant modern streetcar in the U.S. for the City of Portland, Oregon. United Streetcar is currently under contract for six more streetcars for the City of Portland’s East Side Loop Project, and has been declared the manufacturer of the City of Tucson’s new seven streetcar project.
Through becoming the premier US manufacturer of modern streetcars, United Streetcar continues OIW's history of being a recognized leader in the local community by bringing additional living wage jobs to the area and contributing to the overall economic vitality of the region.
